Wooten started the 2009 season with the RiverCity Rage before being released after leading the Rage to a 7-3 record. Wooten finished the season by leading the Wild to two wins in the playoffs and the Central Division Championship. Wooten finished the 2009 regular season ranked 7th in the IFL in passing yards with 2,121 and 4th in the league in TD passes with 53. Wooten threw only 8 interceptions on 296 pass attempts in 2009.
Prior to joining the Rage, Wooten spent the first part of the 2008 season with the Baltimore Mariners of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) before being traded to the Carolina Speed, who also plays in the AIFA. In 2007, Wooten played for the Cen-Tex Barracudas of the Intense Football League.
Wooten spent the 2004-2006 seasons playing in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL). He played for the Katy Copperheads (2006), Rome Renegades (2005), and Oklahoma Crude (2004).
The Houston, TX native was in mini-camp with the Minnesota Vikings in 2003 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002.
