For the second consecutive season the Wichita Wild fell one game short of going to the IFL title game. The Wild lost on Saturday night by a score of 52-34 in Sioux Falls. The Storm advance to their fifth United Bowl in the last six years. The Wild finish the season with the best record in franchise history at 11-6.
Sioux Falls dominated the second half of the game winning the final two quarters by a score of 24-13. Both offenses moved the ball with ease as Sioux Falls gained 236 yards while Wichita gained 241. The game turned on turnovers with Wichita committing three and Sioux Falls comitting zero turnovers in the game.
Wild quarterback Dixie Wooten finshed the game 17-of-34 passing for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Clinton Solomon and Edgar Givens caught five passes each. Solomon gained 104 yards and scored two touchdowns while Givens gained 92 yards and scored once.
Sioux Falls now has an all-time playoff record of 12-1 at home.
