As the Wichita Wild gear up for Saturday's first round playoff game, four Wild players were recognized for their success during the regular season. The IFL named 38 players to the All-League first or second team. Of the 16 total offensive players recognized, three of them play for Wichita as wide receiver Clinton Solomon, offensive lineman John Mobley, and running back Darius Fudge were named to the All-IFL team. They were joined by league Special Teams Player of the Year, Randy Kelly, on the squad.
This is the second season in a row that Solomon was named to the first team. Solomon finished second in the league in receiving yards (988), third in receptions (81), and third in touchdown receptions (29).
John Mobley was named to his first All-IFL team as he helped pave the way for fellow All-IFL player Darius Fudge. Fudge finished tied for the league lead with 26 rushing touchdowns and 647 rushing yards, which was third in the league. Fudge also added three receiving touchdowns.
Kelly led the league with 1,193 yards on kick returns. He averaged 16.1 yards per return with one touchdown. Kelly also added a touchdown off of a missed field goal. Kelly led the IFL in all-purpose yards with 1,379.
The Wild and Extreme kickoff at 7:05 PM on Saturday night at Hartman Arena in a game where stingy defenses could be the story. Bloomington finished the regular season ranked second in the league in points allowed (31.1 ppg), while Wichita ranked 6th allowing 37.3.
The Bloomington offense has struggled at times this season as the Extreme are averaging only 35.5 points per game, which ranks 22nd in the league. Wichita ranked 9th in the IFL scoring 45.6 points per game.
