On Tuesday afternoon the Wichita Wild removed the interim tag from Morris Lolar's title and named the Wichita native to the full-time head coaching position of the Wichita Wild.  Lolar led the team to a 6-3 record over the final nine games of the season after taking over after the Wild started the 2011 season 0-5.  Lolar will also continue serving on the coaching staff at Friends University.   ... The Wichita Wild used a 32-0 run in the second and third quarters to open up an lead that the visiting Bloomington Extreme were unable to over come.  The Wild defeated the Extreme by a score of 62-22 in the season finale.  Wichita finishes the season with a 6-8 recod while Bloomington is off to the playoffs with a 9-5 mark.

The Wichita Wild will play in front of a home crowd for the first time since April 16 when the Omaha Beef visit Hartman Arena on Saturday night.  The Wild went 2-1 on their road trip and find themselves at 3-6 and with new life in the hunt for a playoff berth.  The Beef are 5-4 and currently hold the final playoff spot.  With a win, Wichita would be only one game behind Omaha with four games to play.  Kickoff for the game is set for 7:05 pm.  ... For the fourth time in the 2011 season the Wichita Wild had the ball in the closing minutes with a chance to take a lead and for the fourth time the Wild could not convert the opportunity into a victory.  The Wild fell on Saturday night to the Allen Wranglers by a score of 56-44.  The Wild led the game 44-42 in the fourth quarter and had the ball down 49-44 with four minutes left in the contest. ...
