Wild End Season in Dominating Fashion
The Wichita Wild used a 32-0 run in the second and third quarters to open up an lead that the visiting Bloomington Extreme were unable to over come. The Wild defeated the Extreme by a score of 62-22 in the season finale. Wichita finishes the season with a 6-8 recod while Bloomington is off to the playoffs with a 9-5 mark.
Wild QB Phil Staback finished 18-of-27 for 223 yards and five touchdowns. Staback led the Wild to a 5-2 record in his seven starts this season. Staback finished the season with 1,210 yards passing and 17 touchdowns. Brian Murph continued his late season surge at wide receiver. Murph caught five passes for 95 yards and scored three touchdowns (two receiving, one kickoff return). Darius Fudge led the team in receptions with seven for 61 yards and a touchdown.
The Wild were led defensively by Scooter Rogers with 11 tackles. Brandon kaufman added eight tackles and an interception. CJ Lovett scored the final touchdown for the Wild with a 35-yeard interception return with 12 seconds left.
Bloomington is the #5 seed in the United Conference and will travel to Omaha next week in the first round of the playoffs.
