T.O. To Join IFL
After much speculation, Terrell Owens, perhaps the most polarizing figure in all of professional sports over the past decade, announced via his Twitter page late Wednesday evening that he has agreed to terms to play football for the Allen Wranglers in the upcoming 2012 season.
Owens was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft. His career spanned over 15 seasons and included stops with 5 different teams (Eagles, Cowboys, Bills, Bengals). Terrell ranks 2nd all-time in receiving yards (15,934), 4th in Touchdowns (156), and 6th in catches (1,078).
"This is a very exciting event in the history of the Indoor Football League" stated IFL Commissioner Tommy Benizio. "The caliber of player in the IFL has grown to a remarkable level and the addition of Owens is a huge step in continuing on that path."
The Wichita Wild will face the Allen Wranglers a total of four times in the 2012 season, two of which will be played at Hartman Arena.
Members of the media and public can expect further announcements related to Terrell Owens over the coming days and weeks.
